2020 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
It has been our intent to hold our AGM in person this year given our provinces progression into Phase 4 of our COVID-19 restart plan. As recently as two weeks ago we were still planning an in person meeting however our region is not in a good place in respect to COVID-19 currently and we have made the decision to move forward with an online AGM once again this year.
On Friday September 3rd, all Society Members in good standing will receive an e-mail which will include our 2019 Minutes, 2020 Financial Statement, a Finance Report and a Presidents Report. BRC Members who reside within the our catchment area (between Redfish Creek and Coffee Creek) will be eligible and asked to approve and vote as part of this AGM process. In this e-mail The approvals agenda will be presented with the intention that all items meet the requirements of the Societies Act and BRC by-laws.
AGM approvals and voting will include:
2019 AGM minutes of December 10, 2020
2020 Financial Statement
Election of Board of Directors
The Balfour Recreation Commission is always on the lookout for new volunteer board members to oversee the facilities under our care & management. If you are passionate about community and interested in bringing your enthusiasm and experience to our Board, please consider volunteering. The BRC Board is a group of up to 9 volunteers from which an executive is chosen. All positions, executive and directors-at-large are a 2 year commitment to the community supporting the BRC Mandate to promote healthy living and community spirit while building a network of community resources as a base for future events and community development. Please express your interest in getting involved by e-mailing BRC Administrative Assistant, Miranda Urquhart, by clicking HERE.
In the September 3rd e-mail, the process for viewing documents and providing response will be clearly laid out. A paper document for approval/voting purposes will be made available upon request should it be required.
All responses, whether electronic or paper document, must be returned and received no later than September 8th 2021 at 12:00 noon.
We appreciate that this process does not provide opportunity for conversation. Society Members may at any time contact a member of the current Board of Directors through our Administrative Assistant by e-mailing email@example.com.
We thank you for your patience and support throughout this challenging time and we look forward to a day when we can again meet in person to discuss our Society and Community.
